Turning sixteen

This week my oldest son turned the ripe old age of 16. For those of you wondering…he’s eligible to get his license on March 6. Yes, this was a big birthday, for him, and for me. I know he’s my son , but I think he’s one of the most compassionate and thoughtful people I have ever met. Many of you that shop with me have heard me at one time or another “bragging” about one of my children. I love them and I don’t think you can tell your children that enough.
Watching the horrific events unfold in Haiti this past week should make all of us reflect on how lucky we are. I can’t begin to imagine the feeling of a mother wandering the streets looking for her family and praying they’re still alive.
Sometimes, I need to write about things on my mind other than fashion. This week seemed like one of those times. Tell your loved ones how much you care for them and how much they mean to you…and have a great week.
Be Happy, Be Smitten and Be Thankful…

Renewed and refreshed!

Last week I was in NYC for 3 markets. I wasn’t that excited to go…I was tired and felt like I was just coming off one of the busiest Decembers I can ever remember (not complaining one bit just was a little tired!!!) The nature of this business makes it necessary for me to go. I have to see what’s new, what’s trending and make a game plan for the store. Well guess what? … We have a game plan!
I came back to the store in all my fluttering retail glory (yes, my lovely staff does roll their eyes at me) The boxes arrived back before I did and all they could say was …WOW! This is going to be a wonderful spring! Accessories the most important part of fashion this spring, and we have an abundance in. Big cuff bracelets, the big ring, bib necklaces… and PIN PIN PINS. You won’t and should not wear just one.
Here’s our commitment to you…whatever the accessory trend… we’ll try our best to not only have it, but have it at an affordable price. We’ll also teach you to wear these new trends with confidence. Fashion is supposed to be fun.
So … I’m back and yes I did have some fun in NYC. I ate at two wonderful French restaurants and had the opportunity to see Madeline Albright ‘s amazing pin exhibit at the Museum of Art and Design.
We look forward to seeing you soon…please join us on January 20th for our Pins are in Continuing Fashion Education party. Details are on our In Store Events page.
Don’t forget we still host our lovely Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy every Friday afternoon from 4pm to 7pm.
In the meantime…
