Yes, that really was overheard at Smitten! We’re happy NOT to be in the mall and we hope that you would be happy not to shop in the mall! I preach about the importance of shopping local and supporting your local businesses a lot. Please know that this isn’t simply to have you shop only with us. I can’t stress enough the importance and value shopping with a small business has to your community’s financial health and development. How boring the world would be if the only retail choices we had were in the form of a mall. We try to have something for everyone in our sweet boutique…but we know that sometimes we just don’t. What we do know is that there are several lovely shops in Brightleaf and on Ninth St that just might have what you need. Trust us..we’ll send you in that direction.
So before you hop in that car…drive to the mall…fight traffic, crowds and over worked sales help… Stop and think about if you just might be able to shop with a local business, with great parking, and very appreciative sales help.

Yes, we all know how many days there are remaining until Christmas. Including all of us here at Smitten. We have been stocking the shelves with wonderful merchandise, and we are certain we have something for everyone in our sweet boutique.
We know the last year has been a tough one for many, in light of that we have brought in many items that are very affordable, but still a luxurious treat for any fashionista to receive as a gift. We want everyone to feel welcome here and we appreciate our customers and their support of Smitten.
We have a few more events before the year’s end. Tomorrow, Wednesday December 9, (5pm to 8pm) we have our last CFE (continuing fashion education). “So many parties and nothing to wear”. We’ll show you how to update last year’s party look with fun and affordable accessories. These events are our favorites! We’re ope until 8pm so drop by, let us show you how to wow the party…and maybe even get those last few gifts crossed off your list!
December 17th is Smitten Men’s Night. We’ll be sending an evite to all the spouses and significant others who NEED to come to Smitten. If you want your someone included on that list …send us an email with their email address! Don’t forget to let us know what it is you really want! We’ll take care of the rest!
Lastly…if you can’t make it to any of these events, stop by and see us on Friday night! We still have our Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy from 4pm to 7pm…for those of you that have joined us know that it really is the best way to end your week!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Black Friday Breakfast! We had a record day and a lot of fun! This post is very brief as we are very busy, stocking Pandora trays, unpacking new merchandise and wrapping, wrapping ,wrapping! Don’t forget tomorrow December 2 12pm to 8pm we will have Durham Gemologist Brad Dingler here. Bring in your scrap and unwanted gold, find out what it’s worth and get some always needed holiday $$$. No appointment necessary come find out what that “gold stuff’ is worth.
