This week is a time we all reflect on what we are thankful for. This Thanksgiving I have more than usual to be thankful for. I have an amazing staff that is enabling me to actually spend some time with my family this holiday season. I have amazing friends all of whom have helped me throughout this last year in some form or fashion. (I won’t bore you with the details…you all know who you are and what you’ve done for me!) Our customers are the most dedicated and supportive of any I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Lastly…I have an incredible family…they’re my rock and are my biggest cheerleaders. So as you can see, have a great deal to be thankful for…but there is much more and if you walk in our beautiful shop you’ll see for yourself what I’m talking about!
Please visit us soon…we’re opening at 8am on Black Friday. Sip a mimosa, nibble on a breakfast goody and enjoy our lovely shop and the atmosphere we strive to provide!
Don’t forget our Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy every Friday 4pm to 7pm…it’s the best way to end your week, begin your weekend and do some relaxing holiday shopping!!!

This is a very busy weekend for us. We are participating in two wonderful community events. Saturday and Sunday we will be hosting our friend Molly Anderson’s beautiful line mollybeads for ARTWALK. Saturday morning we will have a booth (Come see us…there will be some special deals) at the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties Holiday Shopping Spree (Downtown Durham Marriott 9-3) We’d love to to see you at both events! Downtown Durham is happening, great fun and the renovations that are taking place are magnificent!
If you haven’t visited downtown recently…you should. This weekend is a perfect time to experience what is happening in this great town. I think you’ll be pleased by the wonderful restaurants, business and residences that are going up everywhere you turn.
We hope you can join us this Friday 4pm to 7pm for our Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy. We will be showing a sneak preview of mollybead’s and raffling off one of her necklaces! Where excited and would love for you to join us! It’s a great time to begin some holiday shopping if you haven’t already.
Whatever you do…take a trip downtown.

A big thank you to everyone who attended our first birthday / anniversary party last week. It was exciting and exhausting all in one! It was wonderful to see the mix of old and new customers…as well as some first timers! I am so excited…this week is our first birthday / anniversary party at Smitten. No words or parties could even begin to express my thanks to all those that have supported me, McKaig’s Fine Clothing and SMITTEN! We are busy unpacking and primping for our party so this entry will be brief. Please visit us soon…the store looks amazing (thanks to my amazing staff) and we are a buzz with happiness!!!
Our birthday celebration is Wednesday November 4, 6pm to 9pm … it will be a guaranteed fun time by all!
