Whew!

OK I’m back from vacation and have hit the ground running! It seems as though summer is still rearing its ugly head…but the Smitten fashionistas know that fall is just around the corner! I love this time of year…the store fills up with beautiful fall clothing and accessories. I am off to the Big Apple on my final buying trip of the year. (Thank goodness!) There is a lot about to happen at Smitten and it’s all GOOD.
We look forward to seeing you soon, perhaps at our Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy every Friday afternoon from 4pm to 7 pm. It’s the best way to end your week or begin your weekend.
In the meantime …

Gone Fishin…

This fashionista has gone fishin…well not really. I am on vacation and actually left the store in the VERY CAPABLE hands of Amy, Brenda, Julie and Kelly. Please stop by and see these amazing, beautiful women. They mean the world to me and Smitten would not be the same without them. The make me laugh when I want to cry, listen to me fret when business is slow and listen to my endless ponderings about life and other stuff. I adore these women and would be lost without them! Without them…there would be no vacation for me!
Stop by and see us soon. We have gorgeous merchandise arriving daily.
Don’t forget our Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy, Fridays 4pm to 7pm. It’s the best way to end your week or begin your weekend.

The halfway point …

Yes, that’s right we’re halfway through 2009. I know I can’t believe it. Where did the time go? Remember your parents telling you, “you wait until you’re our age, then you’ll really know how quickly time flies”? I’ve decided to take stock of all the things I planned for myself at the beginning of the year. Some of those goals I know I have accomplished with great success…others … well … better luck next year! Oh but wait, that’s right I have the second half of the year to go!
Stay tuned, this just may be the year I accomplish all those New Year’s Resolutions. However, I will now refer to those as half year resolutions.
Why am I writing about half of the year speeding by? Hmmm well…maybe because we are getting all of our fall merchandise in as I write this…and before I know it (in a couple of months) all the merchandise for holiday will be in. Yikes, that means my beloved Smitten will be open 1 year! Talk about time flying…WOW.
We hope to see you soon, we have many things planned at Smitten for the second half of this year…so stay tuned! As they say…the best is yet to come!
We look forward to seeing you soon, perhaps at our weekly Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy.
In the meantime,

Last week…

Due to time constraints I did not have the time to comment on the passing of many of the 1980′s icons last week. What a sad and interesting week it was. I grew up with Micheal Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon…I danced to MJ all through high school and college, wanted to be one of Charlie’s Angels in the worst way, and could never understand how Ed could laugh at every single one of Johnny Carson’s jokes…(I get them now) Life goes by quickly…it’s a short walk down a long road. Prior to last week, I would have reflected on all of these stars as if they had just had their “day” a few years ago, when in fact, it was a couple of decades ago. My oldest son, who is 15, didn’t even know who Charlie’s Angels were, that Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon came long before, Dave, Jay, and Conan, and what Micheal Jackson looked like when he came out with “Off the Wall” Yes, it was a sad week for this 80′s girl. I am trying to honor all of those that passed by remembering the good stuff. The gifts they gave to all of us. Yes, I know they were burdened with their own demons…but they’re gone now too.
OK…summer is halfway over and so is this year!!! We are getting busy and ready for the next season…(my favorite) Come see us soon…we have many changes happening at Smitten. We hope to see you at Wine, Cheese, and Retail Therapy on Friday afternoon, 4pm to 7pm. It’s the best way to end your week or begin your weekend…and yes we’ll be listening to MJ himself…(you know my ipod is brimming with all his hits!)
In the meantime…

Happy Fourth of July!

This week’s entry will be brief…I’ve had some computer and web site drama and trauma (nothing major), mostly due to operator error! I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday weekend. WE ARE OPEN … and always happy to see you! I promise I have a lot to write about next week … being a child of the eighties, the passing of many of that decade’s greats has left me spinning.
We hope to see you soon…don’t forget our Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy…Friday afternoon from 4pm to 7pm. It is the best way to end your week or begin weekend (especially your 4th of July weekend!)
