That’s right … I’m headed to the BIG APPLE. I will be searching the streets of the garment district for new and exciting items for the store. I love New York, I worked there many years ago and have fond memories of my time there.
We are beginning to be in our transition time here in the store…can you believe (for us) summer is about to end and fall goods will be here before you know it?! This is always a hard time of year for me … I don’t really know what to do with myself. I’m excited about the new merchandise about to arrive and I’m anxious about business as we head into the dog daze of summer. This year I am trying to stay dedicated to the evolving image of Smitten. So…stay tuned for new and exciting programs and incentives for our very dedicated customers. We love our customers who are our friends!
Plan a visit to us soon…perhaps our weekly Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy. Fridays from 4pm to 7pm. After you visit with us walk down to Brightleaf and listen to some great tunes while you dine. The Brightleaf summer concert series has begun!

It’s Memorial Day weekend and to me…this is the official start of summer. Yes that’s right, now we can legally wear white slacks and sandals (most of us have been doing this for a few weeks now!) We are open this weekend, our normal hours on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday we will be open from 10 am to 3 pm.
We have a lot happening once again at Smitten…we are upgrading our PANDORA account to the next status… just like the Jeffersons….we’re movin’ on up! What does that mean? Well for one, the amount of PANDORA inventory we carry will dramatically increase and we will broaden our offering to encompass earrings and rings! Yes, we’re all very excited. We hope you are too … don’t know what PANDORA is? Stop by and we’ll be happy in introduce you to the newest and most fun charm bracelet system…ever!
If you’re in town this weekend, stop by and see us…perhaps at our weekly Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy…it’s the best way to start your weekend!!!

Last week was VERY busy here at Smitten. Those of you that visited us for your Mother’s Day and graduation gifts or prom accessories experienced the hustle and bustle of activity in the store! WE LOVED IT!!! This week we are taking a deep breath and regrouping and restocking. Thank you to our customers that shop with us, not just for the special days…but every day.
We look forward to seeing you … perhaps at our weekly Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy 4pm to 7 pm Friday afternoons! It has become a nice gathering of friends and we all look forward to it each week.

My other job is very “full time” … 24 hours a day … 7 days a week. I am a Mom. Those three letters define a lot about me. I love being a Mom and it is simply the most wonderful job I have ever had or will have. I have 2 boys, Harrison and Will who keep me very busy and very happy. They are the joy of my life. So…thank you Harrison and Will for making motherhood such a joy…you two are the greatest!
As for my Mom…she’s quite remarkable as well and continues to be an enormous help and support to me and my family….Thanks Mom! For all the mothers out there…enjoy the day and savor the rewards of your efforts!
The city is buzzing this weekend, Mother’s Day, graduations … even Oprah is here (We hope she comes to Smitten and it becomes one of her favorite things!!) The Brightleaf concert series starts this Friday evening at 7 pm with The Flabbergasters. Our recommendation ~ stop by Smitten for Wine, Cheese and Retail Therapy and stroll down to Brightleaf for some great dining and rockin’ tunes!
